Packed and Waiting / m4w / 33 / (Northampton)
You used to buzz around Hugo’s but I haven’t seen you recently. It was your red bow that caught my attention. Remember the night we could feel the heat coming off the walls? A storm outside, and the smokers were huddled under the awning. We played a game with peanut M&Ms from the gumball machine until we ran out of coins. Those four Smith students wouldn’t leave you alone, so it wasn’t until you let me walk you to the B43 that I found out you were married. “The Mister,” you called him. You told me he was always hungry, but I don’t think that’s what you meant. I’m sorry the first kiss wasn’t better. I’m sorry the second hasn’t come sooner. I’m sorry I left your cherries on the bench. Did you find your tunnel out, or did you follow him back to Japan? If you tell me where you are, I’ll bring the quarters. This town is an empty little maze without you.
